What people have said ;
“ It has really changed my perspective on life”
“ I’ve seen loads of therapists over the years but Josh was the first one I felt was not judging me. So I found the courage to really talk"
“I thank you from my heart for your patience, your humour and your gentle way in which you listen and speak”

I am an integrative psychotherapist, which means I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches to respond to the unique experiences and needs of each person I work with. No two individuals are the same, and I believe therapy should reflect that. My approach is flexible, responsive, and collaborative, allowing us to find what feels most helpful and meaningful for you.
I believe therapy has the potential to create lasting change. It can open up new perspectives, strengthen your ability to cope with challenges, and help you build more authentic and fulfilling relationships—with yourself and with others. My passion lies in walking alongside people as they make sense of their experiences, discover their strengths, and move toward the kind of life they want to live.

My theoretical orientation allows for the parts played by the psycho-social factors of gender, race, religion, class, age, sexual orientation, and biology. It examines the role each has in how we see ourselves and how we feel about that role. The importance of these factors can’t be overlooked and is crucial to how the client sees themself and the therapist, in the room.
Authenticity and friendliness are central to my therapeutic practice.
Evidence has shown that the quality of the client - therapist relationship is possibly the most enabling factor in a positive outcome for you, the client. While we can’t create a different past, we can with reflection, create a new understanding of our history and change our relationship with it. Integrating new evidence- based findings from biology, neuroscience and other quantitative sources with my practice, helps my aim of providing an effective experience and illuminating transition to mental health.
I am also a trained Art Therapist. You do not have to be good at Art to benefit from the insight Art can help you achieve.
Art therapy is still talking therapy but we use art ( pencil, paint , paper, crayons, magazines, photos, clay, music, sound, and movement) to help the conversation along. Sometimes it helps to look at a problem from a different perspective ....

Professional Background
Josh Pulman Therapy has a wealth of experience in helping individuals overcome various challenges. I am dedicated to providing personalized care and support, empowering clients to lead fulfilling lives.

In the NHS I work with addictions, PTSD, anxiety, depression, psychosis, agoraphobia and many other conditions, which gives me a broad knowledge base. I have worked with young and older adults , each wanting to improve their quality of life no matter what stage of it they are at .
My working life has been very diverse . I have been a photographer working in design and advertising, where I recognised the power of images to affect and move people. I also worked in the construction industry, redesigning and renovating homes and business premises. This has provided a broad and interesting lived experience of the world, which helps me to understand the mental distress of others. The desire to improve my own psychological situation led me to re-train as a therapist , while my arts background led me towards using art to further my understanding.
